  • Structural and Payload Design Engineer III/IV

    6-Month Contract in Charleston, South Carolina with Potential for Extension

    Develops, integrates and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design. Develops, maintains and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle. Leads performance, integration and analysis of tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Manages supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals. Assists with investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements. Works under minimal direction.

The selected candidate will have a statement of work that spans the product lifecycle: supporting customer configuration development, supplier engagement, validating and verifying design requirements, integrating business needs, and supporting the product through the production and certification processes. Your work will include the need to interface with other members of project engineering, production engineering, program/product teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions.     Position Responsibilities:
    • Engineering support and project leadership within a production system
    • Direct engagement working with/for aerospace suppliers or airlines
    • Validating/demonstrating compliance to regulatory requirements
    • Working with regulators
    • Design for manufacturing
    • Aircraft cargo compartment and handling system design, integration, and/or certification
    • Works under general direction
    • Assignment of final responsibility could be in any one of the following Interiors organizations listed above. Final determination will be based on best fit and alignment of experience.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
    • 5+ years of experience in engineering, including design, integration, and/or certification or equivalent combination of additional education and relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
    • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
    • Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
    • Experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.).
    • Experience leading a cross-functional team.
    • Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking
    • Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
    • Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development

    * Strong financial modeling skills, including cash flow analysis, IRR, NPV, and sensitivity testing for development projects.
    * Proven ability to perform real estate valuation for income-producing commercial assets and development sites.
    * Working knowledge of zoning, land use, entitlement processes, and their impact on project feasibility.
    * Demonstrated capability in market research and site selection analysis, using both quantitative and qualitative data.
    * Experience with development feasibility and risk assessment, including identifying key project risks and mitigation strategies.
    * Familiarity with construction processes and timelines sufficient to align financial models and budgets with delivery schedules.
    * Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder and investor reporting and coordination.

    Qualifications:
    * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business, or a related field.
    * Advanced degree (e.g., MS Real Estate, MBA) preferred but not required.

    • Demonstrated competency in conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in accordance with ASTM or equivalent standards.
    • Hands-on experience with soil sampling, handling, and interpretation of laboratory analytical results.
    • Strong ability to produce structured technical documentation and detailed environmental reports.
    • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and how they apply to site assessment and compliance.
    • Proficiency in data collection, management, and basic statistical analysis using spreadsheets or relevant software tools.
    • Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and performing physically demanding field tasks as needed.
    • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.

    Qualifications:

    Seeking an experienced Material Planner who is focused on making sure the right materials are available at the right time, at the lowest cost, while keeping customers satisfied.

    Core of the job:
    You’ll plan and manage materials across internal production, warehouses, and external vendors. That includes using systems (like SAP) to track inventory, place and monitor purchase orders, schedule production, and coordinate shipments—especially overseas.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Run material planning (MRP) for raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods
    • Track inventory, maintain min/max levels, and reduce excess or expired stock
    • Schedule production and optimize batch sizes
    • Place and manage purchase orders and supplier coordination
    • Monitor shipments and container logistics
    • Report performance (KPIs like on-time delivery, inventory levels, costs) and explain any issues
